About the Job
A Family Office is seeking an experienced professional to join their growing team as a Construction Accountant to manage all current and future construction projects for the family.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review comprehensive financial reports, including detailed profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements specific to construction projects.
- Provide insightful analysis on project performance, highlighting variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, including forecasting and tracking expenses related to construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure adherence to budgets and adjust financial forecasts as required.
- Oversee and control all project-related costs, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and other expenses.
- Identify cost overruns and discrepancies, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate financial risks.
- Manage accounts receivable and work closely with contractors and other stakeholders to resolve payment issues.
- Facilitate and support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Work closely with the family office team, including project managers, financial advisors, and external consultants to ensure smooth project execution and financial oversight.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction accounting, with a proven track record of
- managing complex construction projects.
- Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Extensive knowledge of construction accounting principles, cost control, financial reporting, and project management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, make informed decisions, and offer strategic recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desired Skills:
- CPA or similar certification
