Construction Associate Attorney

Our client, a reputable national law firm, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Attorney to join their growing Construction practice group in Nashville. This role offers a clear path for advancement and the chance to build a successful career in construction law.

Candidate Profile:

• JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
• Bar Admission in Tennessee.
• 1–4 years of substantive experience in construction law, with a focus on both transactional and litigation matters.
• Experience representing owners and developers in construction disputes, including delay claims, liens, compensation issues, and quality-of-work disputes.
• Background in construction transactions, particularly in planning, negotiation, design, and construction phases for complex projects.
• Strong writing skills, with experience in complex legal drafting for both litigation and transactional cases.
• A background in the construction industry prior to law school is preferred, but not required.
• Courtroom and deposition experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in a range of construction-related disputes, defending owners and developers in litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution settings.
• Handle complex construction transactions from the planning phase through project completion, providing legal support on contract negotiation, project planning, and risk management.
• Collaborate with a team of skilled attorneys in a dynamic, challenging, and supportive work environment, contributing to both transactional and litigation matters.
