Join us. **Job Description** **The Transportation Division of AECOM** is actively seeking a creative, highly talented **Civil Engineering Intern** for employment during Spring/Summer 2025 in the Novi, Michigan office. This position provides the opportunity to work on large, unique, and complex transportation projects throughout Michigan. **The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:** + Work with field inspection teams for oversight of transportation construction projects. + Monitor and record the work and progress of contractors while tracking material quality and usage. + Ensure that traffic control measures are implemented and maintained during construction. + Perform field reviews and take field measurements. + Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. + Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. + Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids. + Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member. + Meet required schedules while producing quality work. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in civil or industrial engineering or construction management. + Must have completed one year of study. + Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required. + Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. + As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint **Additional Information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this role. + Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
