We are seeking a full-time Estimator to join our Colorado team. This individual will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure quality project delivery, acting in both General Contracting and Construction Management capacities.
Job responsibilities include:
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements and identify potential cost factors.
- Utilize industry-standard estimation software and tools to generate detailed and competitive bids.
- Collaborate with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain pricing and cost information.
- Prepare preliminary construction schedules and coordinate all aspects of preconstruction.
- Review project specifications and drawings to assist in development of bid packages.
- Evaluate bids from subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor project costs throughout construction process, identify any discrepancies, analyze project expenditures against budgeted targets.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to create cost effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records pertaining to the projects.
- Preparation of detailed reports.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field, and at least 5 years of commercial construction experience in Colorado.
- Estimating background: Knowledge and experience providing conceptual and detailed cost estimates on multiple disciplines for new construction and renovation projects. We are looking for someone with strong construction knowledge and the ability to develop estimates without drawings.
- Eye for Details: Accuracy is critical for success in this role. Must have superior organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills, as well as the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Leadership Skills: Creativity and confidence in solving problems as part of a team.
- Tech know-how: A strong background in using all Microsoft Office programs, On Center On-Screen Takeoff, Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam, as well as adept in using general computer software. Experience with building modeling software is preferred.
