Construction Estimator (Commercial & Residential)
This position provides support to the construction team to ensure that all projects are estimated and managed efficiently and effectively. Applicant has diverse and directly applicable experience to deploy in a timely manner from onboarding.

Minimum Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in residential and commercial construction estimating.
- Knowledge of the materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction of residential and commercial projects.
- Demonstrable ability to create and maintain schedules in Gantt chart form. Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel). Additional construction-related software knowledge is preferred.
- Willing and able to build company sales and estimating templates for document creation.
- Able to estimate several projects simultaneously. Driven and efficient -- the ability to meet deadlines. High attention to detail focused.
- Strong task management and task prioritization skills. Organized, methodical.
- Ability to communicate clearly and ask questions when needed. Ability to work independently.
- Excellent written skills.
The position is located at our office and building sites in and around Tucson, AZ.
Duties:
- Research permit requirements and municipal fees. Compile data and reports for review. Work cooperatively with design/sales teams including visiting projects.
- Complete material and labor take-offs; obtain pricing from owner-specified vendors.
- Review preliminary architectural/engineering drawings with Team.
- Determine efficiencies and changes that should be made.
- Ensure changes are incorporated into drawings.
- Manage and assist all change orders and related activities.
- Ensure documentation and communication of change orders are delivered in a timely manner.
- Review plans and specifications with Team to determine the scope of the proposed project. Identify, contact, and qualify new subcontractors and vendors; build bidding lists; track and follow up on RFPs and RFIs.
- Lesser complex projects will require the direct client communication.
- Review subcontractor proposals with Team.
- Locate, secure, and schedule delivery of general conditions to the site (dumpsters, equipment storage containers, etc.)
- Draft RFIs during bidding process and ensure adequate responses are received. Compose detailed scope of work for budgets/estimates.
- Compose detailed Gantt chart schedules to accompany budgets/proposals. Deliver budgets, estimates, schedules on time.
- Gain input from key players to understand requirements and potential risks (Subcontractors, Vendors, internal production team, etc.)
- Conduct site walks with key players as needed.
- Review close-out requirements and track these items during construction for efficient close-out.
- Pick up and deliver documents, materials, and tools to job sites, as needed.
- Attend site meetings with Team during construction. Take notes. Assist Team with addressing follow-up items discussed in meetings.
- Manage look ahead no less than three weeks to proactively identify issues that could lead to problems or delays and actively facilitate solutions to these issues.
