Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for all cost categories.
• Conduct thorough risk and opportunity analyses for each estimate.
• Review and evaluate project specific cost factors (i.e. location, duration, productivity, etc.).
• Generate project schedules and assist in the preparation of construction schedules.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure comprehensive bid coverage.
• Coordinate with project management teams to ensure estimates are accurate and reflect the project scope.
• Participate in the presentation of estimates to company management and clients.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, material costs, and price fluctuations.
• Use advanced Microsoft Excel skills to develop and maintain cost databases and spreadsheets.
• Evaluate bids, budgets, and cost analyses effectively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5-7+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a solid understanding of construction means and methods, accounting, and document organization.
• Ability to read and understand all types of construction drawings and documents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in blueprint reading is essential.
• Strong budgeting and bid evaluation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently when required.
