Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Estimator to join our team in a full-time hybrid capacity. In this role, you will play a critical part in analyzing project requirements and generating precise cost estimates. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with project teams, evaluating subcontractor bids, and identifying cost-effective solutions. We value attention to detail and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple deadlines. You will develop estimates based on written descriptions, oral communications, and visual inputs, such as photographs.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project specifications and prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and maintain effective vendor relationships.
- Manage the preparation and presentation of Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Estimate costs using visual materials, including photos and videos.
- Understand and communicate electrical construction processes related to utility transmission and building distribution.
- Familiarize yourself with power delivery systems, transformers, and battery technologies.
- Contribute to engineering scopes, encompassing electrical, structural, civil, and permitting aspects.
- Participate in design/build and Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC) processes.
- Utilize McCormick/Accubid software for estimating tasks.
- Mentor and develop junior estimators and site assessors.
- Foster a collaborative team environment with strong communication.
Qualifications
- Experience in planning, estimating, cost engineering, scheduling, and project management.
- Familiarity with construction processes, particularly in electric vehicle infrastructure.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and charging station technologies.
- Previous experience with bidding processes and subcontractor negotiations.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- High School diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 7-10 years of estimating experience is preferred, but we welcome candidates with relevant experience who are eager to grow in this role.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPE, CEP, PMP) are a plus but not mandatory.
