About the Job
Our Employee-Owned company has immediate full-time openings for a Lead Estimator in the Southeast. This position will work within Industrial, Commercial, Healthcare, and Federal businesses and be part of an amazing and GROWING team! All positions are regular, full-time and benefits eligible. Pay range depending on experience, skills, and knowledge.
The Lead Estimator will provide guidance and expertise to estimator trainees and temporary estimators from the field. Maintains close relations with departments regarding services and estimates. Directs and assists other estimators that may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
JobDuties:
Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
Prepare disciplined estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of work.
Coordinate estimating effort relevant to particular estimate as assigned.
Review and approve take-off and estimates done by estimators under him/her.
Submit bids and proposals on projects estimated.
Prepare breakdown of estimate. Provide estimate information to Project Manager.
Prepare reports as requested.
Introduce cost saving ideas through redesign (Value Engineering opportunities).
Schedule estimate backlog to determine how many estimators are required to complete estimates.
Design and do calculations for services, feeders, and branch circuits for design build estimates.
Additional assignments as directed by manager
