We are growing and need to add a Construction Field Technology Sales Representative to our Team. This position is responsible for selling technology solutions to the building construction market in BPSE’s Georgia territory. These solutions consist of the BPSE Field Layout portfolio of Trimble Robotic Total Stations, 3D Laser Scanners, Field Layout Software, Robotics and Automation, as well as other advanced field technologies within Trimble’s Building Construction portfolio. This position is remote and would ideally be located in the Atlanta area.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and demonstrating how the technology can address those needs.
- Sales Presentations: Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase technology solutions, highlighting features, benefits, and value.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and market demands to tailor sales strategies effectively.
- Lead Generation: Through daily activity, identify and pursue new business opportunities via research, networking, referrals, jobsite visits, office visits, trade shows, technology seminars, and other events and activities as requested.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales plans to achieve targets, including pricing strategies and promotional activities. Understand competitive solutions and market dynamics in the territory and share this information with sales team and Management as it is known.
- Technical Knowledge: Understand the technical aspects of the products being sold to answer client questions and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and present detailed proposals and quotations to clients, ensuring alignment with their requirements.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and close deals, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Post-Sales Support: Provide ongoing support to clients after the sale, addressing any issues and ensuring customer satisfaction to encourage repeat business.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align sales efforts with company objectives and customer needs.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, pipeline, and forecasts in CRM systems for management review.
- Training and Development: Continuously update knowledge of products and sales techniques through training and professional development opportunities.
- Culture: Be a team player first, always ensuring the customer and team is considered before self.
- Cross-selling: Support other Sales & Business Development Representatives and managers throughout the BPSE and Duncan-Parnell organizations to serve customers, enhance revenue growth, and expand market share in the Building Construction segment throughout all affiliated organizations.
- Other: Perform additional duties and tasks as requested by the Sales Manager.
Required Skills & Abilities

- Solid understanding of the Building Construction industry, with knowledge of applications, workflows, and solution-selling to targeted customers: self-performing general contractors, construction managers, concrete contractors, structural steel contractors, BIM/VDC managers, project managers, operations, supervisors, equipment managers, layout/survey crews, & others.
- Basic knowledge of Building Information Management (BIM) processes and systems in the AEC industry, including 3D BIM software, project/scheduling, cost management, document collaboration, and others.
- Technical competency to provide pre- and post-sales support, demonstrate BPSE hardware and software solutions effectively, and develop and deliver training in construction positioning, layout, 3D laser scanning, 3D BIM coordination, mobile project management, and field software.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to network and interact positively and professionally with customers, co-workers, and others.
- Skills to connect and sell at various levels, from upper management to field-level contacts.
- Ability to build and nurture strong, long-lasting internal and external relationships in line with corporate values, culture, and mission.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to handle a variety of situations, fulfill responsibilities and duties, and follow-up in a timely, professional manner.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or other related field is a plus.
- Experience working in and/or selling into the construction industry is a big plus.
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Working knowledge of and experience with CAD software and Salesforce CRM is a plus.

- Must be able to perform critical physical tasks in support of the core functions of this position, including sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, and reaching.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the assigned territory.
