About the Job
BryComm is seeking a Construction Foreman to be part of our Outside Plant team. This position is expected to safely lead the crew in executing the daily planned production. The foreman is responsible for ensuring that materials issuances, usage and reporting is consistent with company policies and practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversee field operations with crew leaders.
- Completes quality inspections.
- Track and log crew member’s time.
- Complete daily Redlines and production reports.
- Complete field safety inspections of crew, responsibility for the day-to-day safety and setting the safety expectations for all crew members under their direction
- Report dailies to Supervisor.
- Understand and implement complex TCP’s.
- Ensure locates are called in and valid.
- Excavation and Trenching Competent person.
- Communicate Clearly with other trades the needs and challenges relating to our scope.
- Understanding what is or is not in our scope of work on the assigned project.
- Responsible for knowing what material is needed to complete the project.
- Help train Laborer 1 and 2 personnel.
Requirements
- Ability to prepare and assemble various line apparatus, utilize equipment to install ground rods and anchors, assist in hoisting aerial poles, and operate various types of construction equipment.
- Ability to climb utility poles at various heights.
- Ability to safely operate hydraulic aerial lifts, ladders, bucket trucks, assist wheel and anchor placement machine.
- Ability to operate derrick digger/pole truck in a safe and effective manner.
- Ability to operate mini excavator in a safe and effective manner.
- Reads and interprets work prints and diagrams and is familiar with current practices pertinent to each job assignment.
- Ability to understand/interpret right-of-way permits.
- Ability to understand /interpret pole attachment permits.
- Ability to understand/interpret TCP’s.
- Ability to lead a small crew of laborer 1 and 2 personnel.
- Heavy lifting will be required; must have the ability to lift and manipulate lasher and other cable placement equipment.
- Ability to identify risks and challenges ahead of time.
- Proven ability to lead both small and large groups.
Qualifications
- CDL A
- OSHA 30
- High School diploma and or equivalent work experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
Physical Requirements
- Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and climb
- Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
