About the Job
This position aids in project support for all field activities by the Construction Inspection Department at Georgia Transmission Corporation. The primary function of this position is to train and develop a working knowledge of all CI Departmental processes and procedures in support of GTC capital construction projects, while assisting Department Management, inspectors, and specialists in the execution and support of those processes and procedures. The position will focus primarily on procedures related to the start of construction projects, construction completion and contract closeouts. This position will aid in the organization and distribution of all necessary project information and construction materials to the field, utilizing online and mobile applications, as well as physical documents and resources. The position will also aid in the receipt and compilation of all project documentation from the field throughout construction. This position will serve as a liaison between the field inspectors and members of the project teams as necessary on construction-related issues. The Construction Inspection Coordinator I or II will receive general work direction from Department Management and specific support assignments from field inspectors and specialists within the CI Department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associates Degree
Experience: Level I: None required. Experience in a administrative support position, preferably in a utility construction-related field, is desired but not required. Level II: Two (2) years experience in a administrative support position, preferably in a utility construction-related field, but not required.
Equivalent Experience:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Level I: Two (2) years of experience in an administrative support position, preferably in a utility construction-related field. Level II: Four (4) years of experience in an administrative support position, preferably in a utility construction-related field, but not required.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: ITS Substation Access ONLY, Valid Georgia Driver's License, Defensive Driving 6-Hour Class, CPR/Standard First Aid Certification.
Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Forms, PowerPoint, Planner, and Project. Must be able to learn applications including Maximo and ESRI GIS Field Maps. Must have excellent organization skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills; basic concept of electric utility construction techniques, and be capable of recognizing, understanding and completing all inspection forms in an electronic format.
