The Construction Inspection Technician's primary function is to perform basic inspection services for various aspects of construction activities. You will be responsible for meeting project schedules and client expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Field observation and inspecting of footings, slabs, foundations, wood and steel beams, piers, retaining walls, and other various aspects of construction as needed.
- Communicate with contractors and managers regarding project status and requirements.
- Complete and submit site visit reports daily.
- Attend project related meetings with clients, owners, and/or government agencies.
- Develop and maintain client relationships.
- Assist with resolution of technical problems onsite.
- Work closely with Manager to complete projects within schedules
- Adhere to company safety polices and use of supplied personal protective equipment.
- Occasionally travel to other Firm's offices, client offices, and project sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma 
- Basic technical writing skills 
- Great attitude and a desire to grow professionally 
- Ability to read construction plans.
- Ability to prepare accurate daily field reports and meet required deadlines for completion.
- Strong organizational ability and verbal communication skills
- A flexible working style with an ability to work independently and within a team.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Certification a plus; Willingness to further industry related education, KBJW in-house training
- Must have valid license to operate a motor vehicle.
Physical Work Requirements:
- May require the ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk and manipulate (carry, lift, move) light to medium weights of 25-50 pounds
- Ability to walk construction job sites, climb ladders and inspect crawl spaces is necessary
- Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate technical equipment, read technical information and to analyze complex data.
- Travel to offsite locations to perform work and work- related responsibilities or to attend meetings may be required.
- May need to be on project sites for extended periods of time.
