About the Job
Job Summary: Observation and inspection of various construction projects including roadways, bridges, pedestrian facilities, utilities, and associated improvements. Daily travel required within Southwest Florida area. Company vehicle provided.
Essential Duties:
- Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts.
- Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
- Observe work in progress to determine whether procedures followed, and materials used are in reasonable conformance with applicable specifications.
- Interprets blueprints and specifications for Contractor and discusses deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
- Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities and compares progress reports.
- Track progress and quantity of construction work items.
- Perform and document testing of certain construction work items as defined in the contract documents.
Qualifications:
- Construction experience required in roadway, bridge, utility and/or site civil construction required. CEI experience with roadway construction preferred. Pay will be commensurate with experience level.
- Existing construction certifications (CTQP, MOT, ACI, Troxler, etc.) preferred but not required. Applicant must be willing and able to attain necessary certifications.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Must have an excellent driving record, be at least 21 years of age and have a valid Florida driver's license.
