We're looking for experienced Construction Laborers for challenging Water + Wastewater Construction projects throughout the Tampa Bay Area, FL. Base pay $18 to $22 per hour. Bi-weekly payroll. Full time eligible for the following employee benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, Life Assist Program, HRA (health reimbursement account), 401k with employer match up to 50% of your contributions up to $2,500 per year. 7 paid Holidays per year and PTO (paid time off). Here's what you will do:
Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor in heavy construction projects; perform manual work in pump/lift station demolition, rehabilitation and new construction.
- Material and supply handling and storage, load/unload trucks, haul/hoist materials. Ability to properly use tools and equipment.
Dig and expose utility piping. Act as a trainee, if designated, to operate heavy equipment (backhoe, excavator, tractor, etc).
Perform confined space entries to access wastewater wet wells for demolition.
Perform a variety of trades including but not limited to carpentry, concrete work, pipe work, and grading and landscaping.
Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
Follow all company safety rules and procedures including use of PPE (personal protective equipment) appropriate for the job at hand.
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman or Superintendent.
Maintain stamina to perform physical activity, including: ability to stand or walk for a long period of time, traverse rough terrain and construction sites, work in or over water/wastewater, work at heights or in confined spaces, lift or carry up to 65 pounds often. Job requirements include a need to climb, and bend. Must have ability to hear alarms and have the ability to audibly identify the presence of a danger or hazard.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
Cooperate and work as a productive and helpful team member.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Education, Training and Experience
Heavy labor construction experience with willingness and ability to perform manual work.
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
Work Environment
Regularly works at construction sites near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Frequent exposure to sewage, wastewater and related bad smells. Work next to open trenches.
