Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice to our clients on all aspects of construction law, including contract law, property law, planning law, and dispute resolution.
- Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or argue for plaintiff's case in construction disputes.
- Conduct research to inform legal proceedings, gather evidence, formulate defense strategies, and develop arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- Prepare and draft legal documents such as wills, deeds, patent applications, mortgages, leases, and contracts.
- Negotiate settlements of civil disputes in the best interest of the client.
- Stay updated on changes in law, regulations, and industry trends related to construction law, and advise clients accordingly.
- Collaborate with a team of lawyers, paralegals, and other staff to ensure the efficient and effective handling of legal matters.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- License to practice law in Indiana.
- 1+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, ideally in construction law.
- Proven experience in litigation, accounting, finance, and/or engineering.
- Excellent negotiation, research, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal principles clearly and effectively.
