Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of general liability and defense matters.
- Represent the organization in court proceedings, providing a robust and effective defense.
- Prepare and draft various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Review and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to determine their impact on the organization.
- Develop and implement effective legal strategies to resolve cases swiftly and effectively.
- Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation that may affect the organization and its operations.
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authorities etc.), creating relations of trust.
- Uphold the ethics and values of the legal profession and the organization.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Attorney, with a focus on construction related cases
- Active membership and good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Exceptional knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
- Proven experience appearing before state and federal courts.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and gravitas.
- Excellent negotiation and people skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, etc.).
