About the Job
Georgia-Pacific is looking to add a Construction Manager for its building products group. This role will lead a team to ensure a safe and injury/incident-free environment in our fast-paced manufacturing facilities. Our directors' will motivate, coach, and inspire by demonstrating, promoting, and applying Georgia-Pacific's Principal Based Management (PBM®) in daily actions and decisions to deliver maximum value to the business and our customers. What You Will Do
- Leading a team of Construction superintendents that focus and drive projects that restore, maintain, and improve operations across our building products divisions.
- Ensuring all projects are completed in a safe and timely manner
- Ensuring that GP PBM process is continually followed and promoted.
- Providing direct plant support in troubleshooting, asset strategies, project development and execution.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure engineering drawings and scope of work are complete accurate and that the proposed designs are constructable.
- Develop a true customer focus for project management, construction, continually seeking ways to improve project execution.
- Leading and influencing different organizations to set directions for transformative work across multiple platforms.
- The ability to handle multiply project assignments and execution with moving target dates as business needs dictate.
- The ability to produce yearly performance evaluation on team members and to develop training to ensure that the team is in a continuous learning environment that meets the ever-changing needs of the GP and building products division.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Five (5) or more years of construction leadership experience specifically targeted at Building products division specific to the construction and installation of projects and equipment.
- Ten (10) or more years' experience leading and developing others
- Ten (10) year of demonstrated project management skills and strong analytical capabilities
- Must be able and willing to work in an industrial manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in noisy, dusty, non-air conditioned or unheated areas
- Efficient use of Microsoft Office Products
- Willing and able to travel as needed. (project dependent)
What Will Put You Ahead
- Fifteen (15) or more years' experience in the construction field as it pertains industrial manufacturing experience.
- Experience leading managers of individual contributors and/or large departments or facilities.
- Experience with construction projects conducted inside of operating industrial facility.
- Experience with large crane and rigging projects as they pertain to industrial projects
- Experience leading improvement teams
