We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Level Construction Manager to join our team. This individual will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of construction management, purchasing, and field operations. As a key member of our team, the Construction Manager will be instrumental in driving project success from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial constraints.
- Utilize spreadsheets and financial tools to compile budgets, forecast costs, and analyze project financial performance.
- Identify and engage with contractors and suppliers, leveraging market knowledge to initiate and sustain productive partnerships.
- Oversee field operations and site management, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, project timelines, and quality standards.
- Assume responsibility for purchasing management, including procurement negotiations and vendor relations.
- Wear multiple hats within a small company environment, actively participating in various facets of project execution.
Direct Reports:
- Initially oversee assistant roles on each site as projects commence, providing guidance and support.
- As the company expands, potentially manage multiple sites with direct oversight of various subcontractors and team members.
- Opportunities to oversee operations in multiple markets for exceptionally qualified candidates.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction management with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
- Expertise in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control within the construction industry.
- Strong technical proficiency, particularly in the use of spreadsheets and financial software for budget compilation and analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local construction markets, contractors, and suppliers in the Houston, TX area.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of managing and motivating teams effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and willingness to be involved in day-to-day operations ("in the weeds").
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in construction management or related disciplines.
- Prior experience in a small company environment where multitasking and flexibility are essential.
