CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - CONSTRUCTION SAFETY AND QUALITY ASSURANCE – GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS
We are seeking a motivated Construction Manager with experience in Construction Safety and Quality Assurance to join our team on a major VA Construction Project at the VA Medical Center in San Diego, CA. The Construction Manager will report to a Senior Architect/Engineer as well as collaborate and assist VA client staff to provide data, and generate reports, as a representative for the client on major construction, seismic, real property, and other special projects.
Responsibilities:
This list is not considered all-inclusive and may be modified in the specific task orders. The CM services will be used to support a traditional Design-Bid-Build construction contract to improve the facility’s utility infrastructure.
TASK: Construction Period Phase
i. Monitoring project financial data and budgetary cost accounting
ii. Construction Phase scheduling
iii. Progress Meetings
iv. Assisting in issue resolution.
v. Testing and Inspection Services
vi. Commissioning oversight
vii. Performing additional construction-related services
vii. Claims Analysis and Resolution Services
Qualifications:
- The CM safety professional should be: a.) Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or be able to attain this certification within 90 days of contract award, with at least
- three (3) years of construction industry safety program management experience; or b.) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with at least two (2) years of construction industry safety
- program management experience; or c.) have a Bachelor’s degree in safety and health from an accredited university or college and have three (3) years of construction industry safety program management experience.
- The CM-CHST shall have completed the OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety class and have a specialized formal course in the hazard recognition control associated with high hazard work operations such as operations involving asbestos, electrical, cranes, demolition, working at heights/fall protection, fire safety/life safety, ladder, rigging, scaffolds, and trenches/excavations.
Preferred Qualification:
- Certificates/Licenses: CCM, PMP, LEED AP, PE, AIA
- Experience representing Owners
- Experience in Healthcare
- Experience on Federal Projects (bonus on Veterans Affairs projects)
