Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in providing program and project management for design and construction, project controls, commissioning, construction-related technology, and facilities management, seeks a Construction Manager, for a project in conjunction with the federal government, in White Plains, NY to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction management on projects for construction, mechanical systems, interior renovations, upgrades or new fit-outs.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Daily construction quality control inspections at project site, ensuring contractor compliance with drawings and specifications. Provide daily reports to client.
- Effectively and proactively manage the client and the company's contractual obligations on projects while performing contract requirements.
- Assist in providing overall project management functions related to budget, schedule, quality, safety, and other requirements of the project scope of work, including but not limited to the development and management of project budget and forecasting, the development of detailed project management and/or execution plans, overseeing and/or developing project schedules, and developing detailed cost estimates with minimal support from estimating staff.
- Identify and/or validate project requirements, goals, and objectives and ensure resources are in place to meet them.
- Develop, manage, oversee, and/or update regular and ad hoc project reports related to scope, schedule, budget, issues, and other relevant project information.
- Lead and/or facilitate, coordinate, organize, and schedule, regular status meetings and special project meetings with various project stakeholders as appropriate.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, providing working knowledge of CPM scheduling.
- Manage and resolve critical issues and provide subject matter expertise.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in construction management is required.
- Must have ability to work evenings, nights, and/or weekends as required by the client
- Experience managing/inspecting projects valued at $1.5 M or above
- Experience with daily onsite construction inspection
- Ability to obtain US security clearance
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, clients, tenants, and government agencies to resolve open issues and provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to analyze project-related information and communicate project status and issues in writing or verbally.
- Experience working independently and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and industry project software to include, but not limited to, Scheduling, CADD, PMIS, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience with government or military construction projects
- Federal government experience
- Current or past HSPD-12 clearance
- CCM certification
