About the Job
Visit job sites with general superintendents to inspect quality control and client needs. Ensure that the project follows the specifications, budget, and timeline agreed with client. Plan, schedule, or coordinate construction project activities to meet deadlines. Monitor the performance and safety of the workers, subcontractors, and equipment on site. Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports. Identify and resolve any issues or risks that may affect the quality or completion of the project. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems. Coach, counsel, and develop General Superintendents on best practices. Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed. Determine labor requirements for dispatching workers to construction sites. Requisition supplies or materials to complete construction projects. Perform Quarterly evaluations - Evaluate employees using company guidelines. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with the superintendents and clients throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to define scope, objectives, and deliverables of each project. Source, screen, and interview potential installers for various projects based on required skills, experience, and availability. Negotiate competitive and fair labor rates with the installers based on the project scope, duration, and budget. Hire and train installers on project specifications, expectations, and safety standards. Manage and oversee installers work quality, productivity, and attendance. Prepare and manage the project budget based on the estimated cost, revenues, and contingencies. Track and report on the actual expenditures and variances from the budget throughout the project lifecycle. Order, receive, and store the necessary materials, equipment, and tools for project. Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely and quality delivery of inventory.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or its equivalent and 3 years of work experience in single-family or multi-family construction. Work experience to include 2 years in flooring. 20% domestic travel to project sites.
