Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a Terminal Improvement – Baggage Handling System SME (Construction Manager II) to support our Facilities Sector. The Baggage Handling System SME is responsible for assisting in managing the scope, cost, schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for the Baggage Handling System projects. The Baggage Handling System SME will be focused on schedule certainty, budget delivery and making sure that construction work meets the required quality standards while enforcing a strong health, safety, and environmental culture on the project. The Baggage Handling System Project SME will ensure the development and implementation of design, construction, testing, commissioning, turnover plans, impacts to the operations, ensuring that risk mitigation for construction activities are optimized, working and coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring LAWA standards are adhered to.
Responsibilities:- Experience in design and spec development/commissioning/installation of in-bound, out-bound baggage systems with in-line security systems conforming to TSA requirements with knowledge of mechanical, electrical and control systems.
- Layout and Installation BIM Coordination with other trades for conflict resolution.
- Managing RFI’s, Submittals, Changes, Quality Assurance, etc.
- The consultant shall have thorough knowledge of Mechanical systems and equipment along with an understanding of applicable codes and permitting requirements.
- Provide support in close out activities/administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other related field required
- Master's degree preferred
- Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional licensure and/or certifications
- More than 15 years of experience in maintenance and operation of Baggage Handling Systems.
- More than 15 years of experience in airport construction is required.
- Experience in the construction of large aviation related projects at domestic and/or foreign airport locations.
- Experience on Activation team at large domestic or international airport.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices.
- Possess technical skills in project management, aviation operations, training, documentation, communications, and/or operational or technology testing.
- Proven leadership and management capability is required.
- Good written and oral communications skills.
Salary Range: $125,600 to $145,600 per year.
Work Environment: Onsite
