Primary Responsibilities
Leader in safety. Deliver CAM's safety program and set expectations to general foreman, foreman, and craft.
Responsible for field maintenance operations within assigned area.
Delivers workforce requirements. Requisition, onboarding, assignment of craft to crews. Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft. Responsible to ensure required headcount met.
Prepares schedules, construction methods and procedures. 24x7 operations.
Supervises and directs subordinate personnel and craftsmen in construction activities within assigned area.
Prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of progress, job workforce forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
Coordinates activities with other disciplines or areas, and clients' resident representatives as instructed by management.
Performs personnel evaluations, ensure subordinates complete personnel evaluations.
Ensures that all CAM, Provincial and Federal safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied within assigned area of responsibility.
Applies progressive discipline to correct undesirable behaviors. Coaching and mentoring of subordinate supervision to apply progressive discipline.
Professionally interact daily with customer. Extensive communication.
Heavy resource scheduling and workforce logistics.
Qualifications
5 years in craft ranks, 3+ years as Superintendent
Knowledge of multi-discipline construction, engineering, or maintenance operations.
Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
Education: High school graduate, OR post-secondary degree an asset OR specialized courses in construction technology
Extensive actual work experience leading to the thorough understanding of the knowledge described above.
Possesses intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point.
