We're looking for both skilled and entry-level Construction Materials Engineering Technicians to join our team in New Albany, IN - Louisville, KY and surrounding areas. Your Day-to-Day:
As a Construction Materials Testing Technician, you'll be an essential part of our quality assurance process, making sure projects are built to last. You'll primarily work outdoors, witnessing the impact of your efforts as projects come to life. Plus, you'll have opportunities to gain industry certifications, supporting your growth and career advancement.
- Review project plans and specifications to ensure accuracy in testing and inspections
- Perform hands-on testing on materials such as soil, concrete, and asphalt to verify compliance with standards
- Document findings using cutting-edge software, like Metafield®
- Calibrate testing equipment to industry standards for consistent results
- Observe inspections to maintain compliance with regulatory and quality standards
- Communicate openly with team members and clients, building trust and project success
Compensation and career level will be based on experience and certifications.
What You Bring:
- A high school diploma/GED
- 0-3+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
- Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
- Basic data entry skills using mobile devices
- ACI Certification, a plus
Physical Requirements: You'll need to be comfortable with:
- Working outdoors, often in varied weather
- Walking on rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs regularly
- Safely moving field equipment on uneven ground at active job sites
- Traveling out of town for assignments as necessary (potentially overnight)
