Construction Project Coordinator
As a Construction Project Coordinator for Best Buy, you'll handle multiple projects and be responsible for managing projects of a $3 million construction value or lower. You'll support remodels, high-volume rollouts, large facility projects, merchandise-driven projects and other construction projects as assigned. You'll monitor and maintain project financial reports, partner with other departments to monitor activities and institute procedures for quality control. In this role, you'll partner and coordinate with other project team members from real estate, store planning, design, architecture, IT, asset protection, deployment, display management and procurement.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. What you'll do
- Ensure compliance for all project requirements including contracts, insurance, real estate and legal agreements
- Oversee the request for proposal, bidding and negotiation processes for construction, vendor and consultant contracts
- Maintain and update accurate forecasts budgets, project records and schedules for assigned projects
- Identify project variances and present clear, concise and complete recommendations to department leadership
- Provide necessary input in approving construction documents and assist team in resolving preliminary design issues and site constraints in preparation for capital presentations
- Assist with the sourcing of general contractors, subcontractors and preferred Vendors
- Travel to job sites as needed for scope surveys, bid walks, construction project kickoffs, progress visits, job meetings and punch list walks
- Complete closeout processes including inspections, certificate of occupancy, punch lists, sworn construction statements, receipt of lien waivers and warranty information
