About the Job
Under managerial direction, the selected candidate(s) will provide field support with an emphasis on work performed by a third-party contractor during construction and design, including the following:
- Ensure work complies with contract documents.
- Complete all required paperwork for contract.
- Provide support during the inspection and quality control/quality assurance furnishing and installing of all material and equipment during close-out.
- Assist in the inspection of communications construction projects; monitoring and coordinating several types of project activities, working independently under general supervision.
- Provide project management support service during construction and design.
- Work with Design manager/ Assistant Design Manger in meeting the project goals.
- Monitor safety ensuring all personnel comply with safety requirements of the contract.
- Prepare regularly and in a timely manner Daily Reports, Quality and Safety Check Lists and Reports, Field Condition Survey Reports, Field Sketches, scopes of work for change orders, estimates, additional work order packages and any other report as required by the Construction Manager/Resident Engineer.
- Prepare, submit and coordinate necessary requests for services, such as Flagging, Access & Protection, etc.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, architectural technology, business administration, or public administration. A bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture is preferred.
- Two to six years' full time satisfactory experience performing project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating or expediting on engineering projects, or supervising a construction project with a value of $l million or more. Candidate must have at least one year of supervisory capacity or have served for at least one year as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project.
- OSHA-30 certification and an 8-hour Lead Awareness Course are required prior to starting the position.
- Ability to read and interpret Contract drawings & specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards preferred.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word, Access and Excel. CADD experience is desirable but not required.
- The ability to communicate effectively with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Organize project information, prepare reports and presentations and interact/communicate with contractors and other departments.
- Knowledge and/or experience with capital construction procedures and field operations is desirable.
- Knowledge and/or experience with construction scheduling and estimating.
- The ability to coordinate with a multitude of users such as operations and engineering personnel.
