Compensation and Benefits:
The Full Salary Range for this position is $70,774.00 - $126,649.00 Annually. The Hiring Range is $70,774 - $93,124 Annually depending on qualifications, with an excellent benefits package. Work Schedule:
Monday – Thursday 7:30 am – 5:00 pm & Friday 7:30 am – 11:30 am
About the Role:
The Facilities Division is seeking an experienced project manager to work with various teams of collaborative and creative architects and engineers. As the Construction Projects Coordinator, you will be responsible for all construction-related aspects of delivering finished buildings and renovated office space for our client departments. Key responsibilities include:
- Soliciting professional design and testing services: You'll coordinate the different stages of design, such as program development, schematic design, construction document development, and issuing bid documents during the bidding process.
- Managing professional services contracts: You will prepare the scope of work, identify consultant responsibilities, advertise and conduct interviews, negotiate professional services contracts, and monitor contractor performance to ensure work is completed according to city standards.
- Field coordination and oversight: This includes meeting with Code Enforcement Inspectors to resolve field issues, monitoring design and construction for changes in scope, and incorporating changes into record drawings. You will also approve pay applications for consultants and contractors during the construction phase.
- Liaison role: As the main point of contact, you will work closely with designers, client departments, the City Manager's Office, contractors, suppliers, and field inspectors to resolve issues affecting project outcomes. You may also be called upon to make presentations to various boards and commissions regarding projects.
- Project administration: You’ll manage the development of project schedules, develop and administer contracts with consultants, track expenditures, approve payments, and authorize change orders for additional services. Attendance at public input meetings, pre-construction, and bi-weekly progress meetings will also be a regular part of the role.
Technical Skills: You should be proficient in using standard drafting hardware and software such as the MS Office Suite and CAD drafting software.
Physical Requirements: This position involves physical activities such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and lifting up to 25lbs. Additionally, you’ll spend more than two-thirds of your time working in outdoor weather conditions.
