Field Safety Advisor (Commercial Construction)
** $5,000 Sign-On Bonus **
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Safety Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all safety protocols are adhered to on commercial construction sites, minimizing risks, and promoting a culture of safety. This role involves conducting safety inspections, developing safety plans, training staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Management: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs and plans for commercial construction projects.
- Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with OSHA regulations, local laws, and company safety policies.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Site Inspections: Perform regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and to identify any potential safety hazards.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Training: Provide safety training and education to employees, including orientation for new hires and ongoing training sessions.
- Safety Documentation: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to promote a safe working environment.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct emergency drills.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Safety Engineering, Construction Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably in commercial construction.
- Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, local safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct field inspections which may require walking, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
