Construction Superintendent
Job Description
- Responsible for managing all aspects of each jobsite as it relates to construction.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects from pre-construction through project completion while maintaining budgets, schedule, and quality.
- Strong knowledge of building science and competency in organization, planning, scheduling, trade management, and computer and technology.
- This position requires willingness to work flexible hours in order to accommodate schedules and a pro-active, can-do attitude as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Reading and interpreting specifications and blueprints
- Overseeing multiple jobs at once
- Have strong knowledge of all phases of construction sequences, scope, building codes and products
- Keeping a clean and organized job site
- Handling all pre-construction set-up including dumpsters, silt-fencing, locks, toilets, and permit placement
- Work with company personnel on details, changes, and other issues
- Work with owners on schedule, changes, project walkthroughs, and warranty protocols
- Tracking all finishes and ensuring products are on site when needed
- Holding subcontractors accountable for their contracted scope of work and schedules
- Verifying plans and specifications are adhered to
- Scheduling subcontractors and meeting with subcontractors to ensure satisfactory job progress
- Ensure all framing, mechanical, and all other trades’ layouts are correct
- Supervising and coordinating activities of labor, subcontractors, and deliveries
- Managing labor and analyzing worker and production related problems
- Candidate must be honest, forthright, and extremely trustworthy to fit in with the culture of the company
Qualifications
- 5+ years of residential or multi-family construction supervision experience
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and safety protocols
- Excellent problem solving and customer service skills
- Outgoing, friendly personality; excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of new wood frame construction process and products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities and proceed with objectives
- Ability to work well in a small group/team setting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and able to learn/utilize industry software
