Community Action is looking for a Weatherization Crew member to join our Weatherization team. This individual will complete the Weatherization units in compliance with funding sources' rules and regulations and should comply with all procedures and standards required by funding sources to date, as well as updated requirements as implemented.
Starting Pay: $22.29/hour with $1000 Training Incentive
The Role:
- Perform Weatherization measures outlined by funding sources, account for the quality and quantity of all materials installed on units, and Ensure that all Weatherization work is performed safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Ensure all materials, equipment, and tools needed for the job are obtained and on-site. Accurately maintain material inventory for each job and maintain equipment and vehicles.
- Complete a final check of all work performed and site cleanup to ensure all tasks have been completed in accordance with funding source requirements.
- Attend all required program, division, agency, and community meetings, trainings, and seminars.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2-5 years’ experience with and knowledge of the building trade preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain (1) Lead Safe RRP, (2) OSHA -30, and (3) BPI Crew Leader certifications within 6 months of employment.
- Valid Nebraska Driver’s License and good driving record required.
- Knowledge of Weatherization procedures, guidelines, products, regulations and terminology.
- knowledge of office equipment including computer, fax, printer, telephone system, as well as skill in using tools and equipment such as operating a truck, using a ladder, flashlight, tape measure, screw drivers, drills, caulks, scales, etc.
- Knowledge of Building and Safety Codes and Regulations.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate English effectively.
- Must be able to work with clients of diverse backgrounds individually and in groups, holding them accountable, providing them with useful counsel, and empowering them to reach their goals.
