Position: Consultant/Certified Pharmacy Technician. The idea candidate must reside in the Clinton/Laurens areas of South Carolina and will travel from Clinton/Laurens to assigned centers.
Position Overview:
Assists Consultant Pharmacist in their role of providing consultation, evaluation and overseeing all aspects of the provision of pharmacy services in the nursing facility according to policies, procedures, state and federal laws.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- All duties are performed under the immediate supervision of a Consultant Pharmacist
- Evaluation of all medication storage areas within the nursing facility according to policies, state and federal laws and provide written reports.
- Audits all aspects of ordering, acquiring, receiving, labeling, storage, administering, documenting, disposing and reconciliation of medications in the nursing facility.
- Conducts educational sessions regarding medication policies, procedures, state and federal laws.
- Evaluation and audit medication administration and monitoring systems.
- Education and evaluation of manufacturers' specifications regarding medications.
- Evaluates medication storage areas according to state and federal law.
- Assists Consultant Pharmacist with the destruction of controlled substances in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Facilitate communication between nursing facility and pharmacy.
- Customer service liaison.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor authorized to do so.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- May require frequent standing, walking, bending, and crouching for several hours per day.
- Occasional sitting at a computer for several hours.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- H.S. diploma. Associate Degree preferred.
- Pharmacy Tech Certification in good standing
- Two plus years as a Certified Pharmacy Tech in retail, hospital or LTC setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required, MatrixCare helpful
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Able to work at a moderate speed
- Self-motived/high work ethic
- Able to work during inclement weather
