Alera Group is looking for a Consultant to their Health and Welfare team who brings experience and enthusiasm to our Employee Benefits team - joining us may be the perfect fit for you!

We are passionate about our clients' success in the areas of Employee Benefits, Property and Casualty Insurance, Retirement Plan Services, and Wealth Services. With a network of offices nationwide, our commitment to collaboration allows us to offer national resources combined with local service.
Spring provides strategic consulting including actuarial and underwriting services to major employers, associations and insurance and financial services organizations throughout the world. Our consulting team has extensive industry experience in areas such as risk management, actuarial, health care, life insurance, disability and absence management, employee benefits and property & casualty consulting, retirement and pension services. In addition, the firm provides strategic consultation directly to employers on the use of captive insurance facilities in the employee benefits and property & casualty area.
This position is in our Boston office but can be remote; New England area preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead consulting efforts and provide subject matter expertise in health and welfare benefits, including health, life, disability, absence, and voluntary benefits.

Salary range is $110,000 - 130,000 per year, based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead consulting efforts and provide subject matter expertise in health and welfare benefits, including health, life, disability, absence, and voluntary benefits.
- Manage client relationships and seek opportunities for expansion.
- Create client proposals, engagement letters, and deliverables.
- Ensure timely and clear communication of client deliverables.
- Analyze data, interpret findings, and translate results into actionable insights for clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and state and local leave laws.
- Build and maintain relationships with TPAs, carriers, and reinsurers.
- Review team members' work and provide constructive feedback.
- 3-5 years of employee benefits consulting and client management experience. Key characteristics include:
- Strong problem solving and project management skills
- Experience in large group claims, underwriting or data analytics
- Superior ability to communicate (in both oral and written forms) across multiple levels and audiences
- High degree of customer focus and responsiveness
- Ability to deliver high quality work on deadline
- Proven project management skills and use of various tools and communication methods
- Flexibility and energy to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and excellent Excel modeling and data management skills
