About the Job
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
This exciting post offers the opportunity to work in a first-class vascular and endovascular service. The appointee will form an integral part of vascular surgical services for the Gloucestershire and Swindon Vascular Network, with the hub based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and the two spokes at Cheltenham General Hospital and the Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
Main duties of the job
The Trust centralised all inpatient arterial vascular surgery for the network onto one site in 2014, and vascular workload has increased since completion of the Network agreement with Swindon, yielding a population of around 1 million. The post holders will benefit from substantial existing practice in aortic aneurysm surgery, both EVAR and open, carotid surgery, arterial bypass and reconstructive surgery, and venous intervention (including open surgery, foam sclerotherapy, endothermal ablation, as well as acute and chronic deep venous intervention). We are well supported by nearby Tertiary Vascular Units for supra-renal and thoracic aortic work.
