Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Consultant - Volcker Rules for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
The Volcker Rule Office (VRO) is Firm's first line function that manages our ongoing firm-wide compliance with the Volcker Rule. Responsibilities include the design, operation and oversight of the central proprietary trading and covered fund control framework required to ensure Firm has a reasonably designed program for compliance with the Volcker Rule. Working closely with the businesses, ICRM, Legal, Finance and Risk, the team is responsible for the design and operation of key Volcker controls for the firm including, but not limited to, Reasonably Expected Near Term Demand (RENTD) analysis for limit setting, Trading Mandates, Risk Mitigating Hedging controls and Metrics reporting to the Volcker Regulators. As a member of the Volcker Rule Office, you will deliver integrated solutions supporting Firm's global Volcker Rule compliance program, in line with regulatory expectations, and working closely with the front office, Independent Risk, Compliance and other functions.

Salary:60.0-80.0 USD/Hour

- Conduct daily Volcker controls monitoring. Investigate exceptions impacting desk's documented scope and deviations from permissible activities
- Communicate and coordinate with various different stakeholders to ensure exceptions are remediated within established SLAs
- Be the central point of contact for maintaining the hierarchy structure. Make updates to keep the structure aligned to finance updates or as required by business objectives.
- Conduct monthly metrics reviews with various businesses. Document any outstanding issues and work with stakeholders for remediation
- Perform semi-annual and annual processes ensuring the relevant procedures are being adhered to at all times
- Perform ad-hoc requests for senior management including PowerPoint decks, data pulls, and Internal Audit (IA)/Regulatory requests
- Identify, prioritize and proactively manage dependencies, risks, exceptions and issues
- Partner with the wider Price Risk & Controls team to improve alignment of Volcker to FRTB requirements
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's/University degree
- 3-10 years of relevant experience
- Hands-on experience in implementing structured business/operational processes and associated business requirements documentation
- Understanding of global markets trading products (Fixed Income, Equity, Currencies & Commodities) and/or securities services (Prime, Collateral, Clearing, Custody, Fund Services)
- Understanding of Front Office trading processes across the full trade lifecycle within a large bank/dealer
- Experience with JIRA, Corporate Applications, and advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Power Point and SharePoint
- Comfort in working with large data sets
