Job Title: Consumer Loan Advisor
Position Location: Raleigh, NC. Must live locally.
Your impact:
As a Consumer Loan Advisor, you will have the opportunity to enhance lending and sales goals with members and potential members who apply for credit via online, phone, mobile and branch network channels serving as the primary contact to facilitate their loan application experience from start to end. You will recommend appropriate consumer lending products and Credit Union services, understand their credit profile and membership performance, and answer any questions they may present. In addition, you will use your strong communication and rapport building skills as you work with underwriters, branch personnel, and other departments in support of the member's loan application experience.
The contributions you can anticipate making:
- Managing workflows and pipeline production to enable excellent servicing levels, responsiveness, and accessibility for direct members and potential members.
- Communicating approvals, counter offers, and adverse decisions to members while maintaining rapport and negotiating decision-change requests as warranted.
- Maximize opportunities to cross sell loan products to meet origination goals and year over year growth goals for home equity, vehicle loans, personal loans and credit cards.
- Working in tandem with credit underwriter, branch personnel and members to structure the best loan option to fit needs to meet corporate sales and service goals.
- Uncovering and addressing member needs by clearly communicating appropriate recommendations, utilizing a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of Credit Union key objectives, product, and service solutions.
- Analyzing financial and credit information in order to recommend financial planning services, increased loan approvals, or make referrals to business partners when appropriate.
- Serving as a subject matter expert in the areas of consumer credit: vehicle loans, personal loans, and credit cards.
- Using electronic systems to communicate, transmit, and receive loan information to and from members, internal team, and 3rd party vendors, as needed, to originate loans.
- Contributing to an atmosphere of teamwork by supporting the overall lending objectives and Coastal's strategic plan.
- Staying up to date with Coastal's lending policies, guidelines, and all lending regulations.

Experience:
- At least three years of financial services experience
- At least three years of consumer lending experience including processing vehicle, credit card, and personal loans
- Experience in a role requiring meeting and/or maintaining individual turn-time goals
- Experience in a role managing workflows and a production pipeline efficiently
- Experience reading and interpreting Credit Bureau information
Education:
- Related bachelor's degree preferred
