Do you want to work for a well established, top tier Moving and Storage company with no limit on your earning potential? We are currently seeking a Consumer Sales Representative to service our Philadelphia, SE Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Southern Delaware markets.
Job purpose
The Sales Representative is the face of Bayshore/Shoreview in the customer home. The sales representative is responsible for attending sales appointments and building relationships with potential customers, while accurately and efficiently providing the customer with a move quote. The sales representative is responsible for converting prospective customers into booked customers and ensuring they have a smooth transition over to the Customer Service Representative.
Duties and responsibilities
The Sales Representative is responsible for:
- Attending sales appointments by driving to the prospective customer home and meeting with them to discuss the advantages of moving with Bayshore/Shoreview
- Performing site surveys by walking through the customer home, storage units, etc. to create a detailed inventory of items to be moved, estimated number of boxes to be packed, etc.
- Creating a moving estimate by utilizing the technology provided, showing the customer the estimated total and explaining all services included/offered
- Booking the move by showing the customer the value of moving with Bayshore/Shoreview and getting them to book
- Collecting and submitting all appropriate paperwork to the main office as soon as possible to assist in the customer transition to Customer Service and Operations
- Prospect for new appointments
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Extensive sales experience with minimum of 2 years in customer service, phone sales, sales, etc.
- Previous experience in moving/relocation/transportation/logistics is preferred
Professional Certification
- Valid drivers license
Knowledge
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Skills

- Skill in written communication communicating effectively in writing, with a basic understanding of grammar and usage, as appropriate for the needs of the audience

Working conditions
The sales representative will spend a large portion of time driving, visiting residential and/or commercial locations, and generally a varied environment.
Physical requirements
This position requires the ability to walk, stand, sit, climb and descend stairs, and drive a vehicle. Less than 25% of the time will be spent sitting down, with the rest of the time spent driving, walking, or climbing/descending stairs.
Pay Structure
This position pays on a draw and commission pay structure after the initial onboarding and training period (typically 45 days). Employees will receive a draw on a bi-weekly schedule, with commission payouts once monthly. Earnings are not capped.
