Job Title: Container Platform Engineer
Location : Atlanta, GA
Top skills required:

Responsibilities:
This Container platform engineer position reports to the Strategic Engineering and (Containers as a Service) engineering manager. The primary focus of this role is administering and supporting the OpenShift Container Platform ecosystem for the organization. As a CaaS Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing OpenShift in a cloud-native environment, focusing on automating processes to optimize performance and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contributes to and supports the corporate Enterprise Container Strategy by Identifying ideas to improve system performance and impact availability.
• Manage the container platform ecosystem (installation, upgrade, patching, monitoring)
• Assist in change management of container platform for new versions of OpenShift, Hotfixes, SysAdmin tasks, etc.
• Cluster capacity management and provisioning through automation of underlying hosts.
• Provides L3 engineering support.
• Works with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
• Authors/edits system documentation/playbook(s)
• May assist experienced team members with the delegation of workload.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support containerized workloads, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the OpenShift cluster performance, security, and capacity.
• Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency.
• Implement and manage container security practices, including network policies, RBAC, and other security best practices.
• Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patching of OpenShift clusters and underlying infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for containerization, microservices, and cloud-native architecture.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of services across environments.
• Have working knowledge of on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based deployments and configurations along with monitoring and management.
