Content and Design Team Leader

Position Overview
This role is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a mission-based team in an organization dedicated to increasing philanthropic giving through donor advised funds. As the Content and Design Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of content and design professionals, overseeing project completion and providing editorial, creative, and strategic guidance to align with marketing and growth goals.
Responsibilities
- Balance workload and adjust resources
- Set strategy for copy, design, and team processes
- Create efficient, high-quality approaches for immediate goals
- Manage multiple projects, resolving complex issues
- Collaborate with marketing manager, leaders, and creative teams to align business and marketing goals. Pitch innovative ideas and creatively tell the organization’s story
- Contribute to marketing through content creation, editing, and managing various formats including websites, surveys, ads, and press releases
- Maintain expert knowledge of financial and nonprofit industries, along with the organization’s products and services
- Stay updated on market research and competitive analysis, ensuring branding standards are upheld across channels
- Ensure all deliverables align with brand standards, marketing goals, SEO/SEM targets, and regulatory requirements
- Lead quality initiatives, analyzing data for process improvements. Drive team skill enhancement through knowledge sharing, cross-training, and professional development
- Provide editorial guidance across mediums, collaborating with designers, developers, marketing, PR, regulatory teams, and leadership
- Mentor junior writers and designers, offering feedback on content, story development, and media formatting
- Report team performance to the Marketing Manager, identify areas for improvement, and track action plans
- Foster a culture of analysis, conceptual thinking, and quality
- Serve as editor for high-priority content and participate in special projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in writing, literature, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in content development, editorial, and creative management
- Experience mentoring writers, editors, and proofreaders, preferred
- Proven ability to lead teams or manage people
- Expertise in creative processes
- Experience with multi-channel, multi-segment marketing campaigns is a plus
- Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills for diverse audiences
- Solid understanding of online communication best practices
- Ability to simplify complex topics for any audience
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor
- Experience mentoring creative professionals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; preferred experience with Pardot, Salesforce, CRMs, or CMS
- Tech-savvy, with the ability to quickly adopt relevant tools
- Ability to learn technical concepts swiftly and manage multiple high-quality projects
- Comfortable interacting across all organizational levels
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
Compensation
- Salary: $87,000 + potential for 10% bonus
