The team oversees partnerships and negotiates with a broad range of content and programming entities, including major broadcast and cable companies, sports leagues, OTT/digital providers and studios
Content serves as a key driver in consumer decision making, and the role content plays for our current and future customers is increasingly critical. The Content Strategy and Partnerships Sr
Manager will oversee Verizon’s Fios content activities, including programming, acquisitions, development, and strategic partnerships
They will be part of a team responsible for managing all aspects of the content deals and initiatives with a focus on the Google partnership across YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, and Google’s other content services
Additionally, this role will work on Sports Leagues, RSNs and Cablenets
This Sr Manager will be responsible for negotiating and securing content rights, and impact our current business by optimizing our existing deal pipeline, executing strategy around the massive consumer shift to OTT video and services. Responsibilities include:Developing and maintaining relationships with content partners and the industry at large, representing the company that garners Verizon’s reputation as an industry leader.Leading negotiations and structuring deals with partners to secure content licensing agreements with the necessary rights to support Verizon’s current and future businesses.Managing relationships with Verizon’s key content providers.Partnering cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure the maximization of assets, top tier content flow and consumer/revenue growth.Leading all aspects of negotiation including contract redlining and working closely with Legal to execute long forms
What we’re looking for...You’ll need to have:Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.Six or more years of relevant work experience.Six years of experience in programming, acquisition, or distribution from best-in-class cable provider and/or content programmer and/or FAANG partnerships. Experience in cross-functional collaboration with a diverse set of stakeholders, including Legal, Finance, Marketing, Product and others.Experience in partner management, business development, and successfully negotiating and executing long-term agreements.Experience and knowledge of market dynamics, customer trends and the competitive cross-platform media and entertainment landscape.Even Better If You Have:Master’s or other advanced degree – MBA preferred.Proven leadership and excellent communication skills.Strong self-initiative and persistence, ability to deal with a high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity in key areas.Deep understanding of a dynamic multi-platform content market (including linear acquisition and distribution business models, knowledge of market trends and dynamics, and an understanding of the wireless business).Analytical rigor and uses data and analytics to drive decisions.Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and cross-functionally as part of a larger team.Self-starter, who takes initiative to creatively solve problems
Thrives in a fast-paced environment and comfort dealing with ambiguity.Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and evaluate deals
