About the Job
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for the facilitation and oversight of continuous improvement activities in order to increase capacity, reduce lead time, improve delivery, improve quality and reduce cost. You will provide strategic leadership to assist in the identification, development and execution of continuous improvement plans and create management systems that support a lean culture.

What will you do?
- Facilitates training and development in lean techniques, including Rapid Cycle improvement and Value Stream Mapping plans
- Provides local facilitation skills for Kaizens either by doing them personally or by training/assisting others. Calculates and reports savings and other results.
- Has strong leadership skills and can motivate and drive teams, including peer teams, to achieve results
- Can lead projects on their own to completion, often times without direct authority
- Uses experience and process management skills to identify and implement continuous improvement activities. Supports plant management in identifying and removing obstacles that impact the lean transformation.
- Provide hands-on training and coaching, as well as develops local coaches, in lean tools and concepts including, but not limited to: VSM, Standardized Work, PDCA/A3 problem solving, Kaizen event leadership and rapid cycle improvement, process analysis, Process Management, 6S, lean office, lean leadership, etc.
- Actively initiates sharing of best practices throughout the plant
- Serves as an internal consultant and participant to improvement projects
- Ensures documentation and posting of continuous improvement activities/events. Ensures alignment and collaboration between manufacturing departments; ensures that successful methods are shared and deployed where appropriate.
- Proposes and defines the work methodology for process engineering and continuous improvement projects execution.
- Work directly with engineers, operators, and other departments as needed to define current and implement new processes / technologies that best utilize available labor, materials, production and engineering needs.
- Responsible for identifying, driving, and facilitating process improvement opportunities corporate-wide with emphasis on processes that will improve the company's cost structure through improved yield, quality, and productivity.
- Responsible for identifying existing and / or new technologies that will improve quality and reduce manufacturing costs. This includes working with engineers, operators, and metallurgists to implement new technologies

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a complex manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in a Continuous Improvement role required, running Kaizen events, prior experience with 6S events/lean implementations,
- Value Stream Mapping/Pareto Analysis
- Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt strongly preferred
