Manager Notes:
- Team supports Procurement, liaison with oncology therapeutic area and procurement team.
- Just purchased a company called Immunogen that works on solid tumors --- we are integrating their business into ours and our oncology strategy – there are lots of legacy Contracts that need to be reviewed, process is already going – when we finish and go live on Oct 1 st , we will be supporting Immunogen. Need quick reviews of Immunogen contracts.
- Similar to last role but more emphasis on Contract review and reaching legal interpretations, drawing topline conclusions and actioning on with suppliers, related stakeholders etc. Comparison of contracts >> bringing it into one document. Understanding our template and having Legal understanding, organized. Could be reviewing to cover same services with a given supplier, or may be adding new requirements, ensuring any existing contracts are compliant with Client's standards etc.
- Should have polished presentation skills – strong writing skills.
- Bachelor Degree minimum – Masters / JD is a plus ---- Legal backgrounds favored –
- SAP, or Sirion (Contract management system) helpful
- ***Much more of a Strong Contract Admin Profile + legal background favored – understanding of procurement helpful but doesn't need to have hands on experience.
Also all indirect related or is it mixed? Commercial & indirect – mostly services, maybe some goods --- Does the type of contracts matter? Should be well versed with Master Services Agreements, SOW's Frameworks – software / SaaS – consulting agreements, some media buys are types of contracts
Purpose:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a contracting specialist, to support the integration of a newly acquired subsidiary. The role will support the Commercial Business Procurement Team by effectively managing and coordinating contracting activity related to the transition of this new business function, including review of existing contracts, seeking input as necessary from cross-functional team such as legal or compliance and procurement category teams, as well as reviewing contracts to provide guidance to the business team. This individual will be responsible for reviewing a variety of company agreements. The ideal candidate must be energized by working in a complex and fast-paced environment, and be able to quickly understand and support business objectives with sound and ethical judgment. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting contracting activities related to the integration and ensuring smooth and efficient processes, while maintaining strong collaboration with stakeholders, including peers, Legal, and business partners. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including team members and legal professionals. This is a temporary position with an estimated duration of one year. Responsibilities:
- Review and assess third party contracts, including assessing fundamental contract content and purpose to compare against Client requirements and policies
- Track multiple contract related activities tied to the integration of our new affiliate
- Support transition related needs from other functions independently or in collaboration with more senior members of the Procurement team
- Perform and collect due diligence information required for evaluating and approving new suppliers, in line with the Preferred Supplier Networks, while ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulations.
- Work in partnership with Procurement colleagues to ensure supplier risk management and compliance guidelines and protocols are followed.
Qualifications:
- BA Degree minimally is required for this role, JD highly preferred; equivalent job experience will also be taken into account, but the BA is required.
- Must have 5 or more years of experience in pharmaceutical industry with an emphasis on the business (i.e., contracting, outsourcing, finance).
- 3+ years total combined minimum years of experience required in areas such as Purchasing, Accounts Payable, accounting Customer Service, Materials Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, or other business related experience
- Strong experience in SAP, contract management database, and vendor management program.
- Must be able to work with multiple complex computer programs to complete the contract execution process within departmental timelines and within auditable standards. Cerion Labs; higher level Excel to manage large data sets; SmartSheet, SAP
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with highly demonstrated quality customer service.
- Self-motivated and capable of working well within a team-oriented environment.
