Job Overview:
We're seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Interior Design/Build Project Manager with an exceptional eye for design, strong follow-through, and a passion for creating inspiring spaces. This is a project-based role, with the possibility of working on multiple learning center projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project management, from drawing space plans to coordinating construction and purchasing decor. Core Responsibilities:
- Interior Design
- Collaborate with RAC and RCD to streamline procedures and identify needed products
- Ensure the center layout and design is functional and beautiful
- Inspire an organized and clean learning environment through purposeful design
- Purchase and procure furniture, finishes, and décor
- Coordinate delivery and setup of products purchased
- Ensure all selections align with the project's design concept and budget
- Project Management
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and milestones, ensuring on-time and on-budget project completion
- Conduct regular check-ins with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to monitor progress and ensure project requirements are met
- Maintain accurate records of project expenses, timelines, and deliverables
- Identify and troubleshoot any project-related issues, proactively seeking solutions to ensure project continuity
- Compose weekly updates to all project stakeholders, tracking open to-do items and addressing any questions or concerns
- Build
- Collaborate with RAC and RCD to develop and refine space plans for learning centers
- Contract and coordinate subcontractors for minor construction projects
- Coordinate with subcontractors, city officials, ownership, and insurance representatives as needed to ensure construction work scope complies with city code and insurance requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of proven design experience
- Minimum of 2+ years of proven project management experience, specifically in interior design or construction
- BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to see the big picture and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow through on commitments in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders
- Strong teamwork/collaboration skills and a confident ability to offer suggestions and improvements to process
- The skillset to prioritize and re-prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating a proactive approach
- Working proficiency with project management software.
- Working Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite: Excel, Word, Teams, Powerpoint
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Background in interior design or architecture
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. Monday, GanttPro, HubSpot, Jira, etc.)
- Proficiency in design tools for creating space plans (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp)
- Familiarity with learning center or educational space design
