Contract Library Assistant-Philadelphia-Up to $19/hr! at Beacon Hill

Our client, a higher education institution in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Contract Library Assistant to join their team! This role includes managing phone correspondence, providing administrative support to faculty, and organizating materials.

About You:

• High school diploma or GED, plus one year in customer service and one year of library experience (higher education preferred).
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with integrated library systems.
• Strong customer service skills for addressing customer needs.
• Able to stand for long periods, reach high shelves with a stool, bend for lower shelves, and demonstrate sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.

About the Job:

• Demonstrate excellent customer service in response to inquiries regarding basic circulation policies, such as book holds and borrowing, in a professional manner.
• Maintain accurate placement of books and other library materials.
• Respond to telephone inquiries, gathering necessary information for the appropriate response and redirecting calls, as needed.
• Maintain proficiency in the use of library and college systems including, but not limited to, Alma (the library's Integrated library system), MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Assist students, faculty, and staff in the use of library equipment and related systems in a professional manner.
• Communicate library policies and procedures to students, faculty, and staff, as needed.
