Who we’re looking for:
The Contract Manager performs all functions related to the contracting process for assigned business partners, including Medical and Business Products and Services business partners. The Contract Manager is responsible for surveying the market for new opportunities for MHA, they will also look at the market for gaps in the portfolio and have a clear understanding of how market conditions impact the executed contracts. The role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the contract management process, including preparing, coordinating, and managing contract negotiations as well as the ongoing relationships with assigned Business Partners, including, but not limited to, new agreements, renewal agreements, amendments, and product/price change notifications. The right candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills and follow-through as well as strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Serve as initial point of contact for business partners and legal for pharma contract related inquiries, with escalation to Trade Leadership as needed.
- Manage projects as assigned.
- Perform peer review functions on contract amendments that do not require legal review.
- Serve as the point of contact with the Trade Leadership for assigned Business Partners on contractual matters.
- Prepare documents, obtain analytics/insights, Take the lead in business review coordination and discussions, and document feedback with mid & low-level accounts. Send out business review meeting notes with follow-up actions and ensure follow-up occurs accordingly.
- On all standard and nonstandard contracts, negotiates all business terms in new and renewal agreements and provides redlined recommendations based on MHA policies and business goals from Trade leadership.
- Support contracts pull-through activities by choosing correct communication templates, writing communication material, and obtaining necessary information from account management, operations, analytics, legal, and trade leadership for the completion of contract communication updates. Obtains necessary approval from legal, account management, and marketing.
- Makes recommendations on contract communications materials connected to the drug's lifecycle. Helps build new templates and repeatable processes connected to new or updated materials.
- Make recommendations on repeatable contract routing and approval processes to trade or legal leadership. After approval, update appropriate documents and train accordingly.
- Coordinate contract negotiations between MHA Legal and Business Partner to ensure timely review, reconciliation of contract drafts and final approval of contract terms and conditions.
- Proactively coordinate with Operations Teams on all operational terms and conditions.
- Managing that Pay Terms are being adhered to by Business Partners
- Reporting is consistent with the contractual terms
- Identifying all contracts with additional Administrative Fee terms
- Make recommendations on repeatable operational processes, obtain approval, document accordingly, and train appropriate stakeholders.
- Ensure that contracts are fully executed and communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility, awareness, and seamless implementation.
- Ensures key contract terms are loaded in MIDAS, Salesforce, the Z Drive and the Portals
- Manage ongoing contract maintenance, such as product additions and price changes, as well as contract renewals and extensions.
- Develops recommendations for contract management KPI’s, implements, monitors, and reports out KPI to trade leadership team in standard operational reviews.
- Address Sales and Operations contract-related issues in a timely fashion.
- Ensures contract renewals are finalized proactively prior to expiration date. Makes recommendations on process changes to support efficient renewals, and documents and trains on approved changes accordingly.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- BA/BS in degree; MBA a plus.
- 5-7 years managerial experience, with experience in contract management, customer service, operations, or analytics in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
- Strong contracting strategy and administration experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
- Requires excellent planning, organizational, analytical, follow-through, and self-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and client-server-based applications and databases.
