Responsibilities:

• Health Assessments: Conduct comprehensive health assessments of students, including screenings, immunizations, and health histories.
• Care Coordination: Develop and implement individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
• Emergency Response: Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed.
• Health Education: Promote health and wellness through educational programs and initiatives for students, families, and staff.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with school administrators, teachers, and parents to address student health concerns and ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.

Qualifications:

• Required:
  • 3+ years of nursing experience.
  • Active California RN License.
  • School Nurse Services Credential.
  • CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Preferred:
  • School Audiometric Certificate.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills.
  • 2-5 years of school nursing experience in an elementary school setting.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field.

Schedule:

• Full-time: 40 hours per week (5x8 days).
• Shift: Day Shift (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM), Monday - Friday.
• No evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• Spring Break: Closed from 3/22-4/6.
• Approximate Contract Dates: 2/3/25 - 6/28/25

Additional Information:

• The candidate must be willing to float between elementary (TK-6) schools in National City (less than 10 square miles).
• The candidate will have a home school with an office to work from when not seeing students.
• The candidate must be willing to get the flu vaccine when requested (required during the winter season).
