Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level three Contract Specialist position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Contracting Officer in the planning and execution of acquisitions across a diverse range of products and services, bolstering our contracting efforts.

Skills / Experience Required
- Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance eligible/Special Access Program Accessible
- 10 years of relevant Department of Defense (DoD) experience with demonstrated/practical hands-on experience with contracts and subcontract
- Providing comprehensive cradle-to-grave contract support, involving tasks such as conducting thorough market research, meticulously preparing solicitation documentation (both pre and post award), and rigorously reviewing proposals to ensure compliance with established regulations and guidelines
- Expertly preparing cost/price evaluation documentation and offering strategic advice on negotiating positions, contributing to the development of favorable outcomes for our organization
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders to develop acquisition strategies tailored to meet organizational objectives, including the careful determination of contract methods and types
- Undertaking diligent contract administration duties, which encompass maintaining meticulous contract file folders and proactively preparing necessary modifications to accommodate evolving project requirements
- Assisting the Contracting Officer in overseeing contract performance, ensuring adherence to contractual terms and conditions and facilitating effective communication with stakeholders to address any emerging issues
- Demonstrated mastery of FAR and DFAR requirements, coupled with extensive experience collaborating with regulatory agencies such as DCAA and DCMA, ensuring adherence to stringent compliance standards
- Recognized as an industry luminary, celebrated for exceptional analytical prowess and a proven track record of leadership in navigating complex contractual landscapes
- Exceptional organizational and presentation skills, enabling effective communication of complex concepts to diverse stakeholders

- Meticulously oversee the contract process for assigned contracts, collaborating closely with internal business owners, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure seamless execution from end to end
- Strategically negotiate contract terms and conditions in alignment with Insight's objectives, prioritizing risk mitigation, workload optimization, and financial maximization
- Facilitate efficient interdepartmental communications, leading meetings to promptly address outstanding contractual issues, inquiries, and actions, fostering a culture of proactive resolution
- Conduct thorough evaluations and pricing of government contract proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with regulatory requirements
- Generate, review, and maintain precise contract documentation, adhering to government policies and best practices
- Provide expert contract interpretations, advice, and guidance to internal business teams, ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations
- Ensure timely review of contract modifications, communicating changes and notices effectively to internal stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making and compliance
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree, relevant work experience/training may be considered in lieu of a degree, like Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Crediting Combinations of Education and Experience standard
- Key Skills/Experience Required for Interview Selection ONLY
- Strong knowledge of FAR and DFAR requirements and experience working with DCAA and DCMA

Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
