Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Contractor Assurance Analyst/Specialist to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.
The successful candidate will join the Contractor Assurance System (CAS) Integration team within the Contractor Assurance organization to serve as the Observation Program Coordinator and Assessment Program Coordinator. The CAS Integration team is responsible for ownership and coordination of CAS programs including Issues Management, Event Learning Review, Causal Analysis, Lessons Learned, Observation, Management Assessment, Performance Measurement, and Trending.
The coordinator applies organizational and analytical skills to maintain a mature program that enables effective implementation of assigned processes through:
- Providing process workflow subject matter expertise
- Interfacing with CAS Operations staff and line organization representatives
- Tracking and reporting status
- Evaluating product quality and timeliness
- Providing feedback and coaching to users of CAS processes
- Monitoring and analyzing program performance
- Identifying and implementing improvement actions
- Developing and maintaining procedures
- Developing and delivering training
- Administering supporting software toolsets
As experience and proficiency grows, the coordinator may be assigned additional responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:
- Qualify as an Event Learning Review Leader
- Qualify as a Cause Analyst
- Perform as a backup coordinator for other CAS Programs
This position reports to the CAS Integration Manager.
Exempt Grade Level(s) (28-34)
Minimum Requirements: These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.
- Bachelor’s degree, or
- Associate’s degree with four (4) years of related experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of related experience is required.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat).
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Nuclear or high-hazard facility experience
- Experience with Contractor Assurance related programs/processes
- Experience training, coaching, or mentoring
- Familiarity with DOE Directives, Standards, and Guides
- Familiarity with the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant

Minimum salary $67,817 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
