About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Contracts Manager with a passion for learning, a kind heart, a positive attitude, and a great sense of humor to join our growing team. The Contracts Manager) will oversee the preparation and management of all customer contracts to ensure that all service orders and agreements comply with ClearGov’s legal requirements and strategic objectives. The Contracts Manager will work closely with the sales organization to review and respond to customer contract requests and edits in a timely fashion. In addition, the Contracts Manager will design and implement improvements to streamline the contracting process as ClearGov continues to scale.
The Contracts Manager will be a key player on an incredible, rapidly-growing team as we execute our mission to help local governments and school districts take the next step from good to great.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure contract terms align with business objectives.
- Draft and maintain client contracts and service agreement templates.
- Review, respond and approve in a timely manner all sales contracts to confirm accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Review and respond to customer redlines and contract requests, including review of “standard” customer terms and conditions to be appended to ClearGov agreements, as requested.
- Negotiate contractual clauses with customers’ legal counsels as necessary.
- Maintain an organized system for managing and tracking all contract documentation and related correspondence.
- Manage client contract renewals, amendments, and terminations as necessary.
- Identify potential risks associated with contract terms and conditions, and propose strategies to mitigate them.
- Ensure all contracts comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract-related processes and policies.
- Coordinate a regularly scheduled deal desk meeting to review and discuss non-standard contract terms and conditions and document the outcomes.
- Conduct contract audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Critical Skills/Experience:
- 5 years professional experience in contracts management
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of contract law and legal principles.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Clear and effective communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external customers
- Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all contractual matters.
- Experience with SaaS contracts is a significant plus.
- Certification from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) or equivalent is a plus.
