Position Overview: Roof Experts, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to manage the financial operations of our growing company. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial functions, including managing bank transactions, accounts payable and receivable, vendor relationships, and financial reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual with strong analytical skills to ensure the financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Bank Transactions:
Manage and reconcile all company bank accounts on a regular basis.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of deposits, wire transfers, and other banking transactions.
Monitor cash flow and ensure proper liquidity for business operations.
Accounts Payable (AP):
Oversee the entire accounts payable process, including the timely processing of vendor invoices.
Review and approve AP batches, ensuring accuracy and proper coding of expenses.
Manage payment schedules and ensure that all bills are paid on time.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing and collections.
Create AIA Pay Applications, with associated lien releases.
Ensure timely and accurate billing to clients and follow up on outstanding payments.
Maintain accurate records of customer accounts and aging reports.
Vendor Management:
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Ensure accurate vendor records and timely payments.
Negotiate favorable terms with vendors and manage disputes as needed.
Budgeting:
Prepare and maintain annual and monthly budgets.
Analyze and report on budget variances, providing insights to management for decision-making.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure budget adherence and accurate forecasting.
Month-End Close:
Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all financial reports.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, accruals, and other key balance sheet items.
Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
Tax Filings:
Prepare and manage all tax filings, including federal, state, and local taxes.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax laws.
Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial statements and management reports, providing analysis of key financial metrics.
Present financial information to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Monitor and implement internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CMA designation preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3 years in a Controller role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (Roof Experts utilities the Zoho Operating Suite) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience. • 3 years minimum experience in roofing is preferred by not required. • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of production workers. • Knowledge of commercial roofing systems and installation techniques. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and vendors. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve production issues quickly and effectively. • Bi-Lingual Spanish and English
