Controller
This Position Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities for the Bank, including ownership of all reconciliations: monitoring for completeness, accuracy and proper aging being reported.
- Maintain chart of accounts
- Responsible for prepaid and accrual record maintenance
- Responsible for providing supervision to all Accounting department staff members
- Providing leadership and vision to accounting staff and other department managers
- Responsible for all internal and external reporting as deemed appropriate by the CFO
- Primary responsibility for preparation of Annual Report Financial Statement and Footnotes
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
- Manage Bank’s Budget and Financial Reporting Software Module
- Serve on various internal work groups and committees as deemed appropriate by the CFO and by Executive Management
- Supervise staff responsible for daily cash desk and liquidity needs
- Preparation work for annual budget process
- Ownership of filing regulatory call reports
- Liaison for Accounting related exams and audits
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Coordinates consolidation functions between the bank, the holding company and subsidiaries
- Review activities being performed in department and improve as needed
- Understand and comply with Bank mission, organizational structure, employee handbook, bank security, policies and procedures, standards of conduct and incentive program
- Other duties as needed and assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:
- Bachelor’s degree, Accounting or Finance Major
- Certified Public Accountant credential strongly preferred
- Minimum five years accounting and finance experience in banking
- Five years additional accounting and finance experience preferred
- Extensive PC skills and PC application knowledge
- Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills
- Strong managerial skills and experience
